Wallet, payment history, and payout records

Tell your SpaceMedia wallet balance, purchase history, royalty records, and payout requests apart.

Four different records show money, and they answer different questions. Reading the wrong one is why numbers appear not to match.

Payment History is money going out to SpaceMedia: subscriptions and purchases. The wallet and payouts are money coming in from your music. They are not two views of the same ledger.

Reading the wallet

The balance reflects what has cleared into your account. It moves when royalties are processed for a period, when a payout is requested, and when an adjustment from a store is applied.

A wallet balance and a royalty statement will differ at any given moment, because a statement covers a reporting period and the wallet reflects what has cleared to date.

Before reporting a discrepancy

Identify which of the four records you are looking at, then note the period, the amount, the currency, and the reference shown. Comparing a statement period against a current wallet balance is not a discrepancy, and that comparison is the most common reason a ticket is closed without a change.
