YouTube Official Artist Channel requests
What an Official Artist Channel is, what YouTube requires, and how to submit a request from the SpaceMedia dashboard.
An Official Artist Channel merges your music content on YouTube into one verified channel with the music note badge, instead of leaving Art Tracks, your uploads, and topic channels scattered.
What YouTube decides
Eligibility, approval, and timing are YouTube's, not SpaceMedia's. SpaceMedia can submit a request on your behalf; it cannot grant the channel, guarantee approval, or set a date.
Before you request
- You have music delivered and live on YouTube Music through SpaceMedia.
- You have a YouTube channel you actually control and can sign in to.
- The channel represents the artist, not a label, a personal vlog, or a fan account.
- The artist name on the channel matches the artist name on your releases.
A mismatch between the channel name and your release metadata is the most common reason a request goes nowhere.
Submitting
Open YouTube Artist Channel in your dashboard and complete the request with the channel link. Submit once and wait. Repeat submissions do not speed anything up and can complicate an in-flight request.
After submitting
Approval, timing, and any follow-up questions come from YouTube. If the request is declined, the usual causes are an ineligible channel, a name mismatch, or insufficient delivered music. Fix the cause before requesting again.
Channel management, Content ID, and claim handling are separate YouTube workflows. See Platforms.
