SpaceMedia

Branding, domains, and email

Put your SpaceMedia platform on your own domain and send platform email from your own address, with the DNS records each needs.

Two of the three things here depend on DNS, which means they depend on propagation you do not control. Start them on your first day even though they are not the first thing you configure.

Branding

Brand name, logo, and colors are what make the platform yours. Set these in General Settings, and use the Theme Editor add-on if you want control beyond the standard options. See Theme and email design.

Custom domain

The sequence matters:

  1. Enter your domain in Domain Setup.
  2. Publish the TXT ownership record at your DNS provider.
  3. Verify ownership in the dashboard.
  4. Add the CNAME record.
  5. Confirm the switchover.

Do not add the CNAME before ownership verifies. Wait for each step to confirm rather than publishing everything at once and hoping.

Propagation is not instant. Plan for it rather than raising a ticket the same hour.

Sender email

Platform email should come from your domain, not a generic address, or your customers see a mismatch between who they signed up with and who is emailing them.

Set the sender name and address, then publish the verification, DKIM, and DMARC records. All three matter: without proper authentication your platform's email lands in spam, and the first sign of that is usually customers saying they never got a password reset.

Confirm authentication in the dashboard after publishing. Do not assume it worked because the records exist.

Verify before launch

Send yourself a real password reset and a real notification from a fresh account, on your own domain, and check where they land. This is the single most valuable pre-launch test and it takes five minutes. See Launch checklist.
