Upgrades and Addons
Define what your SpaceMedia platform sells to customers, and activate the add-ons your organization operates.
Two different things sit next to each other and are easy to confuse.
| What it is | Who it affects | |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrades | The plans and products you sell | Your customers |
| Addons | Optional capabilities you enable | Your organization |
Upgrades change your customers' checkout. Addons change what your dashboard can do.
Upgrades
Define membership packages, pay-per-release options, and prices. What you configure here is exactly what a customer sees at checkout, in your commercial currency.
Get the currency and price right before opening registration. Changing a price affects customers already on it, and the mechanics of that are set out at the point of change.
Requires manage membershippackages.
Addons
Each add-on unlocks an area of your own dashboard:
| Add-on | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| Team Members | Staff roles and permissions |
| Smartlink | Organization Smartlinks |
| Theme Editor | Dashboard styling |
| Email Theme Customizer | Email styling |
| Support Desk Manager | Ticketing |
| Knowledge Base Manager | Self-service help content |
| Enterprise Delivery API | API and DDEX credentials |
Enable what you will actually operate. An unused ticketing system that customers can write into is worse than not having one, because messages arrive somewhere nobody watches.
Activation
Purchase and activation happen in the dashboard, and the catalog shown there is authoritative for availability, pricing, trials, and billing model. Deactivating an add-on hides its areas; understand what happens to the data it held before you do it.
See Add-ons for the operational detail.
