Teams, roles, and member administration
Invite staff to your SpaceMedia organization with least-privilege roles, and keep team access separate from customer accounts.
Two different kinds of people exist in your organization, and confusing them causes real access problems.
| Who they are | Where | |
|---|---|---|
| Users | Your customers. Artists and labels who distribute through you. | Users directory |
| Members | Your staff. People who operate the platform. | Members and roles |
A customer is not a member, and giving a customer a staff role to solve a support problem grants far more than intended.
Members require the Team Members add-on. Without it you cannot grant staff roles.
Least privilege, from the start
Grant the narrowest role that lets someone do their job. It is far easier to widen access on request than to discover months later that everyone who ever joined has full admin.
Ask for each person: do they need to change brand settings, approve releases, see financial data, or answer customers? Grant only those.
When someone leaves
Remove access the same day, not at the end of the month. Also review any external connections they set up and any support routes that point at their address. See Activity log to check what changed.
Where the detail lives
Role presets, the exact permission groups, invitations, and the audit trail are documented at docs.spacemedia.uk and in Members and roles.
